SMATRICS and Austrocard cooperation
Since April 30, 2024, the AUSTROCARD can be used at SMATRICS charging points and in partner charging networks. This gives users access to 90% e-charging network coverage and nationwide acceptance from Vienna to Bregenz.
Refueling and charging combined: “We are delighted that it is now possible to charge and refuel vehicles with a single card. The well-known Austrocard is thus being upgraded: From now on, it will not only enable refueling with traditional fuels, but also convenient charging of electric vehicles in the public SMATRICS charging network. Thanks to the expansion of the card's functionality, Austrocard customers will now be able to charge their electric vehicles at 16,000 charging points throughout Austria from April 30, 2024.
Over 90 percent network coverage in Austria with one card
The integration of the SMATRICS charging network into the Austrocard offering promises network coverage of more than 90 percent in Austria and nationwide acceptance from Vienna to Bregenz. “We are proud to be working with SMATRICS and to be able to offer our customers this additional value,” says Stefan Woschitz, Managing Director of Austrocard GmbH. “This partnership is another step on the road to future-oriented mobility.” Users thus have the freedom to choose how to flexibly meet their mobility needs with just one card—a clear advantage at a time when the electrification of transport is on the rise.
